How quickly can a BPSS check be completed?

Our digital-first approach means many of the checks within a BPSS are now instant. The overall process can be completed in as little as 24 hours, compared with the weeks typically associated with manual BPSS checking.

How is employment history verified as part of BPSS?

We verify employment history from trusted sources including HMRC. This removes the risk of manual entry errors or falsified references and flags any gaps or undeclared periods automatically. Where traditional referencing is still needed, our proprietary referencing database of thousands of pre-verified employer contacts removes the usual delays.

What criminal record check is included in BPSS?

BPSS requires a Basic Disclosure, which checks an individual's criminal history against the Police National Computer and reveals unspent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. We work directly with the Disclosure and Barring Service to process this quickly and compliantly.

What happens if a check returns an adverse result?

Our platform flags adverse results clearly within the case record and routes them through a structured exception process for review. Your team can capture candidate explanations or supporting evidence directly in the platform, and a full audit trail is maintained throughout. Our compliance team can also support with guidance on next steps where needed.
